As I sit here, the thermometer has hit 32 degrees celsius. What an amazing start to summer! The next week is full of events and celebrations… so read carefully this week so you don’t miss anything. In this article you will find information on Class Placements for 2018, the new Team Structure and the teachers within them, and a quick update about the new format of the End of Year Celebration (Whakanui).

As most of you will know, for a number of years we have been holding our end of year celebration outside on our school field. This year we are excited to be making the move back to an indoor venue. Here's what you need to know!

Tena koutou katoa. Nei ra te mihi maioha ki a koutou katoa. This is the last newsletter for what has been a very busy and rewarding year for the Aupaki Kāhui Ako. Below are some of the highlights and milestones we have achieved this term...

Rooms 1,2 and 3 recently visited Ferrymead Heritage Park to learn about life in the 1950s, as part of their inquiry into 'Technology keeps changing and affects people's lives'.

In Basecamp we have been learning all about 'Sharing The Planet'. Our Central Idea - "In the living world adults care for their young'.

We have learnt that technology is more than computers, iPads and items we need electricity for. 

Over the course of Term 4, many artistic children have come together to design and paint a friendship seat. Children thought about what friendship means and came up with their design. Painters then got to work, carefully filling in the design.

The Mt Pleasant magic totally shone off the Mt Pleasant School triathlon team out at Pegasus on Wednesday morning. 

Room 2 have been inventors... designing machines for the future to make life easier. We have now completed our inquiry on how 'Technology keeps changing and affects people's lives'.

A big shout-out to all the amazing volunteers who have helped keep our school ship-shape & looking sharp over the past 12 months...the pool painters, the bark shufflers, the tree trimmers, the garden clubbers, the pool committee...you rock! We couldn't do it without the support of our awesome community. 

With all the hot weather we've been having, the newly planted seedlings in Drayton Reserve need your help to survive. 

On Thursday, 14th December we are having a coin trail to raise money for Bamford Primary School.
