Getting ready for BYOD!

Level 3 PE recently completed their annual duathlon event at Moturoa (Rabbit Island). This event has been going for close to 15 years and includes many of the local secondary schools.

Nayland College won a stack of awards at the Cawthron Scitec award ceremony on the 24th October.

A mixture of Level 2 and 3 physical education students, headed to Rainbow Ski field on two separate days in term 3.

As Nayland College moves towards fully integrating BYOD into Years 9 and 11 in 2020, each newsletter we will be profiling how our staff and students are using this technology to further their learning. This week we check in with Ms Vedder and her Year 13 English class.

The first Friday back for term 4 saw the college hall fill up with a keen audience, there to take in a highly anticipated afternoon of pure entertainment. The event was, of course, the Nayland’s Got Talent final.

This is a free training opportunity for 16-24 year old where you work towards a Level 3 Certificate gaining 45 credits.

Aspiring young film makers, including 10 from Nayland College, will be showing off their short films at the Suter Art Gallery Theatre on Thursday the 31st of October.

The third nationwide school Strike for Climate was held on Friday the 27th of September and has been praised as the biggest so far with an estimated 170,000 people striking around the country.

Social studies got practical for 9A earlier this year when they came up with their own initiative while learning about the topic of refugees.
