In 1922 the intermediate schooling model was developed specifically to meet the needs of emerging adolescents. Newlands Intermediate is joining with 100’s of other intermediate middle schools this year to celebrate what makes our schools great places for our young people.

At school, our current topic is Ko Wai Mātou - “Who we are”. We are finding and sharing ourselves in our community.

Gearing up for cross country training has been a highlight for all four syndicates this term.

At the end of February into the first week of March students at our school were invited to create designs for the labels which would go on our jars of honey.

In Room 7 we have been collecting and charting data from the polar fleeces in the lost property bins.

Fridays are for having fun.

On a cloudy, but warm and still Saturday morning in March, the adult members of our school Kaitiaki Pī Team (beekeepers) met to harvest honey from our three apiaries.
