Last Friday three members of the Student Council (Maddie, Billy and Maisie) were fortunate enough to be able to attend National Young Leaders Day. This event was held at the Dunedin Town Hall with around seven hundred and fifty students attending.

Over the day, five guest speakers talked to us about their amazing journeys and how they have persevered through some tough times. From William Pike's story of how he survived the Mt Ruapehu eruption to Brooke Neil’s inspiring tale of how she went to the Olympics.

All the stories we heard were truly empowering. At the end of the day, we were lucky enough to see Yah Yah (an NZ singer/songwriter) perform live on stage and this was a highlight for many. Overall it was an amazing experience.
