Board Co-opted Member Positions

Next year is school board election year and several trustees will not be re-standing because their children will no longer be at the school.

Ahead of the change in board, we are opening spaces to co-opt up to 3 people onto the board. This will provide an opportunity to see what it is like being on the board and enable a smooth transition from experienced to new board members.

Being on the school board is a great way to contribute to the school community, and to understand more about how the school is run.

Ideally we are looking for someone whose children are just starting out on their school journey, as this will give us succession for future years.

There are fantastic free training opportunities through the New Zealand Schools Trustee Association, so don’t be put off if you don’t have governance experience – being motivated, analytical and wanting the best for the school are the traits you need.
