On Monday the 16th March, the Year 11 and 12 Geography classes went on a field trip to Anderson’s Bay Inlet, Ravensbourne, Aramoana and Blackhead to research plastics and the extent to which waste was ending up on our beaches.

On Thursday 12th March as part of my Gateway Careers investigation I visited the St Kilda Fire Station.

Some of the junior French students enjoyed seeing Dilili à Paris as part of the French Film Festival on Saturday.

Over the weekend 18 Queen's students participated in the Otago Athletics Championships in a range of track and field events. There were many outstanding performances with a special mention to Jorja Gibbons, taking gold in both the U14 Hurdles and the U14 Long Jump, setting a new Otago Record.

Great work to our Envirogroup at the Keep NZ Beautiful and Our Seas, Our Future beach clean up for Sea Week 2020.

Our Junior Blue team were ‘our stars’ of this tournament, after beating Dunstan in the junior grade final, 2-0. Our school trophy cabinet now has ten futsal trophies.

There is currently a significant skills shortage in the trades sector of the New Zealand economy - including 56,000 construction tradies alone.

Programme Incubator is a programme run by the Southern District Health Board which introduces Year 12 and 13 students to a range of careers in the health sector.
