As this is the last newsletter for Term Two, I would like to thank you for all your support during term two  and wish you an enjoyable time with your children during the next two weeks.

What's coming up at Raroa

Rooms 13-16 will move out of their temporary accommodation and will start Term 3 in their renovated classrooms in block three. 

The Raroa Instalaughs, our school’s advanced theatresports team, put on a secret show on Wednesday 6th July at lunchtime. Here’s a review of the show by an audience member, Eliza Williams.

Te wiki o te reo maori was celebrated at Raroa by encouraging students and teachers to embrace the theme of "Akina te Reo" which means "To Give Te Reo a Go".

On Wednesday 6th, Raroa sent two teams to the Rugby League and Flag tournament at the Ngati Toa Domain. Eight girls represented Raroa in 6-a-side Flag and 12 boys in 9-a-side league. 

We are delighted to report the following students achievements in the recent ICAS Science competition and offer our warmest congratulations to them.

This year, the Extension Writers have been learning about Slam Poetry. Slam poems are basically a poem that is written to be performed in front of an audience.

Important information for parents ...

 Aerobics is lots of fun and really hard work.  Last Thursday we went to Hutt Intermediate to compete in the inter-intermediates competition. It was great to go and have a taster for regionals. For aerobics in our pairs/groups we had to choreograph our own aerobics routine using some pre-existing combinations and our own tricks.

Not quite the triumphant margin of previous years but a win none the less, the end of day points roundup saw Raroa come out on top with 8 points to 5, to retain the Williams Cup, in our annual sports exchange, held here at Raroa on damp Tuesday 28 June.
