Yes it has begun for real! The official first student exchange has taken place with our Sister School. 30 students and 4 staff arrived for an epic week of activities at Tahuna, Dunedin and our surrounding areas.

Our Term 1 Parent interviews have just concluded this week with a high turnout of parents and students attending. Mr Drummond pictured above had a full turnout.

Over 140 students have registered their interest to play netball for Tahuna in the Intermediate competition this year!

Annabel Ludgate from Room 3 competed in the weekend representing Tahuna in the Intermediate Girls grade (which was part of the Otago Schools Champs Orienteering) and placed 3rd. This was held on farmland/forest near Seacliff. She was the only year 7 girl in her grade and had to compete against Year 8’s so it was a great result.

On Wednesday, 9 Tahuna students went to Port Chalmers to compete in the Dunedin Schools Triathlon and we has some excellent results!!

It has been an exciting and busy time back in the Food Tech room for Year 8 students!

Our Year 7 students have been extremely enthusiastic about getting into, and testing out the Food Tech room this term.

The boys cricket team had a couple of wins but was knocked out of competition earlier in the term. Thanks to the parents who helped out with the team and come along to support us.

Room 6 won a subway shout this week with special thanks to Macy's mum for nominating Room 6 and Mrs Stuart.

Despite the wet weather conditions, we did everything from card games through to kayaking!

On Monday the 12 of February room 6 went out to Tirohanga for 3 days. We traveled by bus and we reached the camp about half an hour later.

During room 19's camp at Middlemarch, we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to bike the rail trail as a class.

Leaving on Wednesday morning, there were mixed emotions in room 19. Students were nervous, excited and scared about what lay ahead for them on there first camp at Tahuna Intermediate.
