Wakari School has returned from the holiday break ready for action.

Below is the process to follow if your child will be absent from school:

Teddy Bear week in the middles has been a blast.

This Friday the 20th of May we will be celebrating Pink Shirt Day at school.

The creative minds in Room 12 & 13 have been honing their movie making skills in their sessions with our Digital Technologies expert, Pip!

To remember ANZAC day for 2022, children in the Room 6/7 hub created powerful ANZAC Diamante poems.

We are now located in the old dental clinic.

This term the Middle Syndicate are having a music rotation on a Wednesday afternoon. We have two ukulele groups, a glockenspiel band and another group taking part in music appreciation and singing.

In Room 8 we are getting ready to write some legends. We have started by thinking about how to describe the setting. Here are some examples of our writing based on this picture.

This week the middle syndicate had some special visitors come to school - their teddy bears! We have been learning to write cinquain poems and wrote some about our bears.

In the Room 12 and 13 Hub this week, we have created our own mini vege gardens.

The children love reading and the various activities on offer.

For the past term the Senior Hub's PBL focus has been Structures.

Room 6 were very lucky to be nominated for a skills session with some of the Highlanders! We had a great time learning some rugby skills and playing some touch. Thank you to Rachael for nominating us and to the Highlanders and The Hits for coming to visit us.

Earlier this term Room 11 spent some time studying the artworks of Reuben Patterson who is a New Zealand artist.
