The end of last term was a blur of activity as the school continued to function alongside a very busy period in our school-wide refurbishment. There are a number of activities and events that took place last term for which we need to extend our thanks.

As the weather continues to be a bit dreary it can be challenging for some students to get up and running in time to be at school before 9:00am.

At the end of last term the Senior Performance Choir and the Westburn Symphony Orchestra participated in the North West Festival held at the Aurora Centre.

Team 1 and 2 had their own version of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. We played versions of Olympic events. Serena recounts her experience.

These are the two goals we will be focusing on for Weeks 3 & 4 (the next two weeks) of this term:

Westburn School congratulates the following students who successfully auditioned for Representative Groups!

While we know that finances are challenging for many of us at present, we’re requesting that Westburn families continue to pay the school donation this term.

Mila entered both instrument and vocal competitions run by Christchurch Competition Society during the school holidays, below are the results she gained:

SMP students present prizes after adjudicating as a special "Junior Jury" to the finalists at inspirational event.

A reminder that SMP applications close on the 18th August with auditions held on 25th August.

Each term board, staff and parents are able to provide feedback on the term's policies which are under review.

Please note: The Westburn School Board of Trustees anticipates that all community groups advertising in this newsletter will be following best practice guidelines.

Our school hall will be available to hire again at the beginning of term 3.
