We urgently need to hear from families residing in our school zone who intend their child to attend Heaton in 2018, but have not yet enrolled.

Congratulations to the Heaton Jump Jam team who have qualified for the year 7-8 National Open Challenge competition. The students will be competing in Auckland on Saturday 28th October. We wish them the best of luck.

Our fantastic quiz night will be held on Friday 18 August. Another night full of fun, frivolity, friends, and food is promised.

Twelve Heaton Chess Club members showed off their skills and sportsmanship while competing in the Canterbury Interschool Chess Tournament. 

On June the 21st, a Hāngī was held at Heaton Normal Intermediate to celebrate Matariki - the Māori New Year. 

Heaton was fortunate to be offered a design workshop and the opportunity to see the dress rehearsal of Bizet's Carmen at the Isaac Theatre Royal.

At the end of last year, the Cultural Club decided they wanted to design a multicultural signpost to show new Heaton students and our community that our school values multiculturalism and diversity. 

The PTA are offering a community evening in October. Dr Lucy Hone, from the NZ Institute of Wellbeing and Resilience, has combined her academic research in resilience with her experiences after losing her daughter to offer rich, practical, and real ideas on coping with life challenges.
