Kia Ora Parents and Friends of the College, One of the things that is becoming increasingly evident as our senior students aspire to do well in NCEA is the importance of being able to read and comprehend the assessments.

For the next 2 weeks we are focusing on Responsibility – following instructions, with a particular focus on having the correct equipment for school.

Congratulations to Billie who has been invited to audition with the NZ Army Band at the end of 2017.

Katikati College sent a large team of 41 students to compete at the next level of Athletics at the Thames Valley Champs in Paeroa.

Blake Gilroy has continued to play exceptional cricket in his regional series for BOP U19's against Waikato Valley in the Beau Fathers Memorial Trophy series.

There is a FREE Student Exchange Information Evening in Tauranga on  Thursday 31st March - 7:00pm St James Union Parish, 70 Pooles Road, Greerton (Parking and entrance off Pooles Road) 

We are open every day from 8am to 4pm (Bus times). Students are welcome to use the Library for reading, homework or using the computers in that time. Parents are welcome in the Library after school to help their children choose reading.

As Academic Captains for the 2016 year Jacob Pfennig and Caleb Ibbotson have many plans around increasing the academic awareness and events of the school.

Ryan Crapp will be representing New Zealand after a stunning effort in the recent NZ DTL Championships in Christchurch in March. Together with team-mate Brad Jeffrey they shot in the disciplines of Single Rise, Point Score and Single Barrell.

The Oceania Continental Wrestling Championships were held recently at the Claudlands Events Centre, Hamilton with fantastic results from Suraj Singh.

On 10th March 22 Senior Drama Students and teachers travelled to Auckland to see “Twelfth Night” at the Pop-up Globe.

Katikati College's only current rower Grace Carver had a great weekend on 5th & 6th March at the Mighty River Junior Regatta.

The Billabong Grom Series (which is a National Surfing Event) was held at Piha Beach on 5th & 6th March with four Katikati College surfers competing.

Katikati College's two top female motocross riders Yvette and Lillian Bouzaid finished off their New Zealand Vintage Motorcross season last Saturday with some great results.

Our annual Athletics Sports were held in very hot weather on Wednesday 24 February.  There were many outstanding efforts and some massive battles as students of all age groups completed across the range of track and field events.

Positions are available for Coaches and Managers of our U15 and U14 teams.

Free Sport every 2nd Friday from 6 - 8pm in the Meads Gym.  All welcome!
