Following the Uniform Review the decision has been made to continue with the current uniform in 2019.

As the end of the year approaches for our senior classes a number of projects are coming to an end. This year for the first time the Year 11 Engineering students undertook an electric vehicle as their project.

2018 was the first year Katikati College competed in at least a decade in any competitive inter-school debating regional finals at a junior or senior level and our students have emerged champions.

A small but enthusiastic group of Year 7 and 8 students attended the third of four robotics scrimmages over Labour Weekend.

Katikati College was represented by junior and senior boys teams at the Waikato Schools Ultimate Day held at the University of Waikato on September 5.

The fierce and fun competition that is is Past pupils vs Present pupils took place on Saturday September 29 in gorgeous sunny conditions.

Louie Campbell has had the most incredible year. It started with winning the Dreamers scholarship which has helped fund the enormous travel and other costs involved with becoming an amazing musician.

This year Katikati College had one entry in the New Zealand National Secondary Schools Minibike Racing Grand Prix.

Katikati again fielded an entry in the Waikato Regional Finals for E-Volocity as reported in the last school newsletter. I am delighted to advise that the team again won the Most Economical Kart competition.

Katikati Wrestling Club has won "Best Junior Club in New Zealand.

Thanks to a new supply agreement between the Ministry of Education, Cyclone and Apple, teachers and each of their students in every NZ state and integrated school are now able to have 24/7 direct access to Apple support.

Katikati College hosted the annual Thames Valley Secondary School Volleyball tournament on Thursday September 27.

Over the last weekend of September our region was represented at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Clay Target Championships by ten boys from Tauranga Boys College and Ryan Crapp from Katikati College.

On September 24 Year 10-12 students took part in future pathways interviews. Year 9 students were given the opportunity to enjoy an all day activity day in the form of an Amazing Race challenge.

The Year 7 and 8 students were recently the recipients of Random Acts of Kindness. We are so lucky to have had a local NorthFuel client nominate us for free sports equipment.

Harbourside is running a Summer Netball Competition on Wednesday nights for Year 6 and up.
