Award for Sister City connection

by Ali Duncan

Last evening at the New Zealand Sister City Conference, Selwyn District Council won the award for the Best Community-School Project AND the Best Project Overall for their two Toraja (Indonesia) projects.

Ladbrooks School (along with 3 other schools) hosted a group of Government officials in 2019 and shared our mahi on environmental mahi and ako.  The team were impressed with what our children are learning about and gathered plenty of ideas to take back to Indonesia.

This week we received a huge thank you from the Sister City team, expressing that this was truly a community project.

School Dental Mobile Clinic Due this Term

The Community Dental Service has advised that a mobile dental clinic is due to visit Ladbrooks School, anticipated to be here in about a month. no date has been locked in yet as any accurate schedule is hard to predict. It depends on numbers of children needing examinations at schools on the list before ours and dental staffing absences. The service has asked in the meantime to make the following information available.
