Exciting news!

The time has finally come and Merrin School is about to get new buildings.

The first building work you will see is a new 5 classroom teaching space and a new hall.  The new hall will be constructed behind the old ESOL room, to the right of the Beatrice Place entrance as you enter.  We are incredibly excited about this.  The board has contributed to this building to create exciting opportunities for our students and I will leave them to tell you about this fantastic contribution.

The new classroom building will be built behind Rooms 14,15,16,17 and once completed these old prefabs will be demolished, as will the hall.  The existing playground will be moved and modernised and we are currently collecting student voice on what the children would like to see and use on the back field.

We are on track to begin this work when school breaks up for the year, using the summer break when children are offsite to 'crack on' and make significant progress.

I look forward to sharing the plans with you in due course, updating you as progress is made and all of our safety measures are put in place.

Finally we will have the acoustically sound, modern facilities that our staff and students deserve.

Kind regards

Lisa Dillon-Roberts
