Principal’s Message

by Sue Cattell

Our school motto is “Empowered to learn and achieve”. This is our aim and our goal for all students. We want them to want to learn, to do the very best they can, to achieve. In order to feel empowered, students need to have a variety of experiences and opportunities, and ownership over their learning and choices in what and how they learn. Student agency is important and we will be providing opportunities for our students to have the voice, choice and ownership which will foster this. They need to be excited about wanting to learn more. We will provide rich learning experiences for them at school, and you can help them by showing you are a learner too, being curious about the world, and being interested in their learning.

Pool Misuse Over the Summer Holiday.

by Admin

It would seem that some families who have hired a pool key, have been ignoring the rules by consuming food and drink within the pool area. There have also been dogs within the pool area and some people have even left used nappies for our caretaker to have to clean up! It is also not ok to let other people in the pool area just because they ask.

2020 Netball Information

by Linda Vane

Milford School has decided to offer only one playing day for all year groups in 2020. In the past year we have found that we have stretched our resources too thinly and have compromised the strength of netball teams. To this end you may register your child in either the Monday competition -Years 1 and 2 Future Ferns which are 4 aside, Year 3 which are 5 aside and Year 4 which are 7 aside. The Wednesday competition is for Years 5 and 6 , both of which are 7 aside.

Music Groups at Milford School 2020

by Eugenie Middleton

At Milford School, in addition to the classroom music specialist programme, we have an abundance of music groups the children can belong to.These include: Junior choir, Senior APPA choir, Kids for Kids choir, Senior xylophone group, Junior and Senior beginner and advanced recorder groups, school orchestra (all ages) and chamber groups. Throughout the year other groups may be added in response to skills displayed by specific students during music classes. Please let me know if your child has a specific talent or passion in music, so that I can encourage them to join the group that best caters for their needs.

by Ellen von Collas

Love ice cream? Please hold on to your empty 2 litre ice-cream tubs over the summer break and bring them to Mrs von Collas in Room 19 so they can be re-used for our new Enviro recycling initiative. T-shirts too small? Please send t-shirts that no longer fit to Room 19 also, so they can be repurposed. Many thanks.
