Our orientation programme for Year 9 will conclude with an overnight camp which will be held at Tirohanga Camp at Mosgiel.

Dunedin born and bred, I am excited to be back in Dunedin after two years away teaching and living in London.

This week, as we all took a break midweek to celebrate Waitangi day many parents and students may have had a chance to catch up with the news that a petition has been launched calling for parliament to pass a law requiring the teaching of our own past in our schools.

We have begun 2019 with a bounce in our stride and are looking forward to a busy but fun Term One. Our Physical Education teachers for the year are Ms McNatty, Miss Ward, Miss Young, Mrs Hickley, and Mrs Mackay. Ms Hokianga is again, our amazing Sports Co-ordinator.

OGHS is proud to announce that we have joined the Netsafe Schools Programme and are now officially a Netsafe School.

For Safer Internet Day and week, we’ve put together a few online safety starter tips to help you stay safe online.

OGHS would like to invite international families who attend our school to a BBQ on Thursday 14 February.

Fundraising and Grants:

NZSTA are preparing for the upcoming Triennial BoT elections. NZSTA is working very hard to encourage parent and whanau participation on school boards in order to help shape and support the education of their children.

The rowing squad has had a busy holiday period. They managed to fit in three regattas (two in Twizel and one at Lake Dunstan) and two training camps (Waihola and Twizel).
