Wednesday marked the beginning of the annual interhouse lunchtime competition at Queen's with a fun and competitive game of touch.

Eight senior students were selected to attend this jam-packed day, on March 11th, which is designed to spark a passion for justice and equality in young Kiwis, equipping them with the leadership tools they need to go out and create the world they want to live in.

Recently all Year 9 classes went on an overnight camp to Berwick.

Last week 10 Year 10 students volunteered at the Dunedin Primary and Intermediate schools Triathlon

On Saturday some Queen’s girls joined up with Columba & Bayfield French students to watch a special showing of Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion. This was followed by games and food at the Alliance Française clubrooms.

On Monday the 18th March the Year 11 and 12 Geography classes went on a field trip to Anderson’s Bay Inlet, Ravensbourne, Aramoana and Blackhead to research plastics and the extent to which waste was ending up on our beaches.

On Saturday 2nd March, Queen’s Envirogroup attended a beach clean up at St Kilda Beach as part of Sea Week 2019.

Students from Leibniz visited for their annual trip. While they were here they did many different activities in school and around Dunedin. One of these activities was with the Food Tech teachers making Pavlova and Cheese Rolls.

Incubator is a programme run by the Southern District Health Board which works with young people who are interested in learning about and experiencing different careers in the health sector.

There has been a lot going on in sports over the last couple of weeks. The end of summer sports and the start of winter sports is fast approaching.

Thanks to the Tri Club, on Saturday 9th March seven of our Year 9 & 10 students learnt many skills during their own training session at Macandrew Bay.

Year 11 PE class has been teaching the Queen’s Pre-School children fundamental movement skills.

Recently the Year 11 Outdoor Education class have been completing a biking unit.

The class had their final surfing lesson this week.
