World Challenge Borneo Trip
World Challenge is an organisation that works in conjunction with schools to help students experience life in third world countries and to develop leadership, teamwork and decision making skills.
Visit this articleThis group has now been established, and will welcome any parents who would like to know more about Learning Support and how it works in our school.
We will meet once a term, with a focus on a particular aspect of Learning Support provision in the school.
The next meeting for our parent network will be on Monday 19 October at 7:00pm in the staffroom.
The focus for this meeting will be to outline and discuss the process of qualifying for, and using Special Assessment conditions, such as reader/writer, use of a computer, rest breaks and extra time.
This is particularly important to ensure that all students with any learning or physical difficulty have an equal chance to show their learning in assessment situations, as this support can have a significant impact on student results.
All welcome. If you have any queries about this meeting, please e-mail RN@riccarton.school.nz.
