World Challenge is an organisation that works in conjunction with schools to help students experience life in third world countries and to develop leadership, teamwork and decision making skills. 

Riccarton High School will be closing at 1:00pm on Wednesday 7 September, so that teachers who are PPTA/NZEI members are able attend a regional meeting to discuss the Government's current proposals on the resourcing of schools.

This season was a huge step up for every one of the girls in the team.

A Dodgeball tournament, organised by the Sports Committee, was held over three lunchtimes and included more than 80 teachers and students in 11 teams.

As part of a study of an Education for Sustainability Achievement Standard, students visit various parts of the Avon River from source to the estuary to collect data about the rivers characteristics.

On Sunday the 30th of August the Senior A netball team piled into a van and headed ALL the way to Timaru for the 2015 South Island Secondary Schools Netball Tournament.

Riccarton High School student, Laura Wu 10NS, recently placed first equal in the Every Story Tells a Picture art competition. 

Recently some senior students completed their adventurous activity training for their Gold and Silver awards.

Congratulations to Andrew Eddy 11GN who has been elected as the student representative on the Board of Trustees. 

Joe Ward 12RN recently started hosting his radio show The Big Joe Green Rap Show on plains FM 96.9. 

Host families are needed for our international students for 2016 and beyond.

Emma McMorran 11CO has been selected by audition to represent the school in the 2015 National Secondary Schools' Brass Band. The band will meet in Auckland from Wednesday 7 to Monday 12 October for a training course which will conclude with two public concerts.

Recently some of our Year 10 classes were visited by FutureIntech ambassadors. 

Congratulations to Aiden Morris 11HG for his achievement in the Education Perfect Science Championships 2015.

Riccarton High School has an app called RHSone that is available for Android and IOS devices.

Two Peerswick Scholarships are awarded each year to a boy and girl in Year 8 who are coming to Riccarton High School in the following year.
