I have thoroughly enjoyed my first three terms at Stanley Bay School and am looking forward to 2024 with this fabulous community. However, first I want to acknowledge our Year 6 students who we are farewelling, they are amazing! Each of them displays the school's vision of confident, creative, curious learners who are connected to the community and the wider world. This has been developed with the greatest influencers: their whanau.

It has been a long process, but our pou are now in place.

We are very lucky to have a board with such a wealth of experience. We would like to extend a thank you to the board for the expertise that they bring to the governance level of our school.

Thank you all for a tremendous and record breaking effort over this year. Our Friends of Stanley Bay events brought in over $81k in total revenue with ~$49k of that going straight to the school and a lot of community spirit, laughs and memorable moments forged in the process.

WE have a new addition to our playground!

It's the last day of term on Thursday, 14th December with school closing at 1.30pm. Aftercare will be provided starting from 1:30 until 3:00 pm. Normal aftercare bookings must be booked if a child will be staying after 3:00 pm.

However we really started this in February when we took part in the NZ Census in Schools. We were one of about 500 schools in New Zealand which took a series of measurements and entered these into the NZ Census in Schools Database.

The Stanley Bay School community did an amazing job to help bring the magic of Christmas to families who could not otherwise afford to enjoy the festive season.

Stanley Bay School has had a busy week of activities and we have been very lucky with the weather

Whether you volunteered your time, a delicious treat, or jumped right in to help on the spot, your contributions did not go unnoticed.

Stanley Bay School will again be joining in some festive fun for the 18th year of the Devonport Lions Christmas parade on Sunday 3rd December.

We were lucky with the weather this week and managed to get both our junior and senior athletics days completed. An amazing effort from all the children who took part and congratulations to the children who qualified for finals and interschool.

Guitar and Ukulele lessons are available at school, for Year 2 upwards, with Dave Gatman from Musiqhub.

Year 5-6 attended an interschool cricket day at Takapuna Grammar School. We took 2 boys and 2 girls teams.

The fun play-based introduction to tennis for all preschoolers 3 to 4 years and minis, 5 to 8 years

Last week the year 5 students went to Millennium Pools to do their first Waterwise session.

Our year 1/2s played their first proper match in the Summer Hockey competition on Monday against Kristin. They showed some great determination and excellent skills, but unfortunately, a sneaky 2nd goal got past them towards the end and they lost 2-1. We are looking forward to the rest of the summer season.

We have hit the ground running!! Term 4 is here in full force, shaping up to be a pretty busy one at that!!
