Japan Trip - Term 1 Holiday Break

We had the privilege of participating in Waka Ama in Term 1 through Te Runanga o Ngāti Toa’s Nga Kete Aronui team. We had 14 students attend to learn about the tikanga and skills of waka ama, which was a weekly highlight for these groups. A huge mihi to the Nga Kete Aronui team for sharing their expertise and creating such a positive and rich learning experience for our rangatahi!

The Tawa College Blue Notes choir performed at the televised Dawn Service on Anzac Day at Pukeahu National War Memorial in Wellington, accompanied by the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band.

Tawa College is part of Active As, a pilot initiative funded by SportNZ.

Tawa College Dance Department is thrilled to have been granted funding from Creatives in Schools in 2024.

Both of the ECO101 classes got to see their learning in action recently at Trade Me, as well riding some of the six slides at Trade Me HQ and generally getting inspired about business and future career opportunities.

RAD - Recycle a Device Club

Congratulations to Mia Beavan, Riley Ariu-Woolley and Isaac Jones who have all recently completed a 21 day Outward Bound course at Anakiwa in the Malborough Sounds.

The Formal Dress up drive is back for 2024 on Thursday 9th May and Friday 10th May during school hours!

We still have limited stock available in a variety of sizes at the $180 price.

There is still time for students to sign up for the reading challenge.

The Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA) has directed members to attend a paid Union meeting on Friday 17th May 2024.

Tawa College uses the SchoolDocs web based platform for the management of our school policies.

Fares are changing for under 25s, from 1 May 2024

Students can come and collect free period products from Mrs Lodge in the Gym office or in G8. Students are entitled to two packs per month. Come and stock up before the summer holidays.
