Pin’d is an annual creative showcase where students can show their own garment and textile art designs to the community and industry professionals.

It is with great sadness that we pass on the announcement that on Friday 20 August School Sport New Zealand cancelled ALL events on its calendar until Monday 6 September. This included all tournaments that were to be held inside winter tournament week which was to start on Saturday 28 August.

Our Year 13 Physical Education students had a fantastic trip to Toi Ohomai as part of their work for Achievement Standard 91500, through which they will complete an evaluation of their training program for the Tough Gal Challenge Event.

Maths week has come and gone with lots of FUN and FANTASTIC opportunities to continue building a passion for numbers, problem solving, creativity and logic and reasoning.

TGC Sports Awards - Thursday 21 October

The 37th NZ Secondary Schools Squash Championships 2021 has now come and gone. 52 teams, from 40 different New Zealand schools and over 312 competitors played at four different venues throughout the Bay of Plenty. This event is certainly the biggest squash teams event in the county and the pinnacle of the Secondary Schools Squash calendar. Tauranga Girls’ College fielded two teams, the A team was Captained by Lola Vahey-Bourne and the B team was Captained by Salma Hassan. All students played fantastically with pivotal matches both won and lost.

Our senior debating team of Ella Mitchell, Maia Hulton-Wells and Inaya Sinclair (from left to right in the photo - all Year 12 students), has had a triumphant series of outings in the last three school exchanges, notching up a phenomenal run of three consecutive wins.

Below is a snapshot of some of the presentations on display to our incoming 2022 students on our recent Open Night which was well attended despite inclement weather.

On Wednesday 4 August our two Junior Competitive Badminton Teams, who qualified through from the Western Bay of Plenty Championships in Term Two, represented TGC at the BOP Champs. Both teams came home with Gold Medals.

Our NCEA Senior curriculum classes and extracurricular Dance students had a fabulous day at the Tauranga Regional Dance NZ Made competition on Monday 9 August.

Daiana Tukana has recently started work experience at Constantia Foods.
