Exploring Future Paths: Careers at Waimate High School!

Students are always welcome to meet with Mrs Shearer in the Library, or contact her via email cshearer@waimate-high.school.nz for careers guidance. For information on various careers and pathways available, visit our careerwise website, collect any of the vocational or tertiary brochures in the Careers Corner of the Library, and check out the Inzone Careers Kiosk

Participating in liaison visits, pathway presentations with industry professionals and other related careers events organised by Waimate High School can also broaden your understanding of potential career options. 

Remember that exploring different career paths is a journey, and it's okay to feel uncertain at times. Take advantage of the resources available at Waimate High School and within our community to make informed decisions about your future.

University of Otago to be rescheduled from term 1 due to bereavement leave.

Waimate District Employment Fair on Wednesday 1 May 2024 from 1pm to 3pm at the Waimate Event Centre - year 12 and 13 students attending with staff. An email has been sent to parents/caregivers and year 12 and 13 students about the careers expo. 

South Canterbury Year 11 Pathways Expo on Wednesday 15 May at STEC, Timaru.

Gateway Forklift Certificate course with Mainland Driving on Monday 20 May.
