Waimate High School Newsletter

Principal's Word - Term 4 Week 8

    by Jo Hunnikin

havinga Kia ora everyone,

Almost there! It has been a huge week this week. We held our prefect interviews this week and it was such a difficult decision given the number of superb applicants we had. It was an emotional and heartwarming experience when the applicants told us what they loved about Waimate High School with comments like; "its such a family atmosphere, everyone knows each other; we all get along; the teachers all know us and know how to help us; everyone is friendly." The prefect positions are attached to this newsletter.  Congratulations to them! We are looking forward to working alongside you next year.

Today was a huge success! Our second Marketfair event and our students represented our school brilliantly. I ate lots of yummy food including hotdogs and donuts!  There was a huge variety of stalls and we are hoping that everyone was able to make a profit! A huge thanks to the community who turned up today to support the event. It is always lovely to be able to show off our school to the community. Mrs Setterfield has been planning this for last 2 terms with her students and their planning and preparation paid off.

A reminder that we are holding a mufti day for the food bank on Monday. The food bank would like us to donate tinned goods, such as tinned veggies and pasta sauces. This is instead of a gold coin donation.

Have a lovely weekend,

Jo
