Yesterday we celebrated the end of the school year with our Annual Junior Prizegiving.

Bright and early Wednesday morning, Ms Gillies, Ms Hull and 10 fabulous students headed to Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park to walk the Hooker Valley track.

45 intrepid year 9 and 10 students undertook the 2021 Amazing Oamaru Race as part of our activities day programme.

Students showed their creativity making ginger bread houses.

From the 3rd to the 8th December, Year 10 camp took place in Hanmer Springs despite having another year full of Covid interruptions and continuous changes of plans.

On December 3rd, Waitaki Girls' High School held our Year 9 Transition day for all Year 8 students from contributing schools who will attend our school in 2022.

We are looking for volunteers who would be available to act as reader/writers, to help some of our students reach their potential.

As students move into the senior Mathematics courses the Graphics Calculator becomes an invaluable tool but we realise they also come at a price. We have found a NZ company who currently have the Casio calculators at a much reduced price than you will find in retail outlets - link below.

9HU has been combining Mathematics and Art recently to create coordinate pictures, geometric designs and string art.

In the last week of 10 Ri have been researching and learning about a topic of their choice - passion project to present to the class. They were not allowed to use PowerPoints and had to come up with different ways to present their information to the class.

Since May we have named a 'sportsperson of the month' thanks to James and Paula at LJ Hooker. Next month a major prize will be won by one of this years recipients.
