In the last week of Term 1 Level 2 Geography students travelled to Wainui. Wainui is located in Akaroa harbour and we were lucky enough to have a pleasant day weather wise.

We are well into Term 2 already, and I’ve been telling the students in Mōhua that Terms 2 and 3 are our “knuckle down” terms, where we get most of the work done for the year. In our weekly hui recently I have been talking a lot about students completing their tasks to their personal best. This means working hard to be better every time rather than trying to be better than someone else.

The feedback I have had from teachers is, even though students (and teachers) were very tired coming back from Easter, that all of our Kāhui got on with their classwork and finished the term strongly.

Visit this article2021 Project K saw a new beginning, with the students starting their 19-day adventure at Craigieburn lodge. From here they walked upstream, through a diverse karst (limestone) landscape of solution holes, rillenkarren (water-grooved rocks) and sculptured rock formations. What a way to start, to open the students up to their real potential.
