Visit this articleThis week we have been celebrating Te Wiki o te reo Māori. It is 51 years since the Māori Language Petition was presented to Parliament on 14 September 1972. The petition played a significant role beginning the revitalisation of te reo Māori by calling for the government to recognise te reo as a taonga in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Visit this articleWe looked at traditional European coat of arms and what each symbol meant. Students then dug deep into their own whakapapa and determined what makes them… them. A modern coat of arms was developed and a shield created.

Each group decided which project they would tackle.
