Here is the notice regarding details of the junior athletics morning and a form to complete regarding children travelling back to school by bus.

South Taieri Primary Schools Athletics 2024 - Senior Athletics Competition

Where: Memorial Park Mosgiel

Seniors: (Children who are aged 8+ as at 1st October) – Grandstand end

Date: Friday 8th November (Postponement Thursday 14th November)

Cancellation: Cancellations will be broadcast on our school’s Facebook page/website. Also through our Edge app (please download this if you haven’t already). Schools will be informed of cancellation by 7am.

Times: 9:15am – 2.45pm

Children should not arrive at Memorial Park before 8.45am. School staff are setting up for the day, so there is no supervision.

Children competing in the senior athletics will start and finish in the Grandstand at Memorial Park. Look for our school flag. Children are to be collected from the Grandstand by 2.45pm.

Wear: Outram School T-shirt, Black Shorts, and Sun hat. Shoes must be worn during throwing events.

Bring: Safety Pin, Drink Bottle, Sunscreen, Sun Hat, morning tea, Lunch, personal medication

Buses: No school buses will be running in the morning, but they will run as normal in the afternoon for the junior students that are at school. There will be no one at school as all staff are at Memorial Park setting up for the day.

Attached is a programme of the day’s events. Children collect points for achieving certain standards of heights or distances at each event and if they gain a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. Certificates will be presented at a future assembly. Year 7 & 8 students earn points towards the Dillon Cup which is presented at the end of the day to the top scoring student from one of the schools.

BBQ: The St Mary's School PTA is running a BBQ at lunch time.
