Tahuna Boys managed to finally break the hoodoo and progress through to the Nationals to be held later in the year after a big victory in the final against Balamacewen last week.

Geo Tech Team 4 take some time to sit on a fault line at Brighton Beach.

Early next term we will be taking a small group of students during sport time to Dive Otago and beyond to participate in a two day snorkelling course. This is the first time this has been offered at Tahuna.

We were lucky enough to call Camp Berwick our home and classroom last week. On our return we have all written a recount of some of our amazing experiences at camp. 

Last week Tahuna was represented at the Otago Champs for the very first time. Four top ten finishers was an outstanding achievement.

The Highlanders 2016 Super Rugby Season is off to a great start, with three home game wins under their belt it’s shaping up to be a great season. Thanks to Pulse Energy, some of our students had a great time in the Kidszone for the Highlanders Vs Lions game on the 12th March.

Year 8 Food Technology students concentrate carefully as they evaluate a technological system.

Enthusiastic and excited Year 7 students have experienced their first taste of Food Technology at Tahuna!

Cole Gibbons is a man on a mission. 3 weeks ago he won the Port Chalmers Year 7 triathlon individual event and last week at the Dunedin Triathlon Champs he added another first and did so in an impressive manner.

Trials have been held and all teams have been selected for the upcoming season, with our first games beginning Thursday 12 May.

Our three wonderful Mandarin Language Assistants have settled into life in Dunedin and are now well involved in teaching in the Otakou cluster. Here, they tell us a little more about it.

Room 15 have been working on recounts. ( We use recount writing to retail events and describe things that have happened)

A number of Tahuna students competed in the Interprovincial Athletics competition over the Easter weekend. Otago came 5th overall, the best in 17 years!

Tahuna supports Water Safety through our Year 7 and 8 Swimming programmes held at Moana Pool.
