Rooms 5 and 20 enjoy a quick stroll to Bayfield to appreciate the Art Exhibition

Recently Tahuna students have been to the fore in a number of differing areas - winning the Classics Trophy; Miniball and Netball teams winning their grades and the Rugby teams winning the Sassenach trophy. Success in the Otago epro8 challenge engineering competition and success at the Peninsula Art Exhibition were other areas of achievement by Tahuna students.

Tahuna clean up at annual interschool rugby tournament! With the Year 7 Boys, Year 8 Boys and Year 7 & 8 Girls winning their grades!

Several months ago the concrete table tennis table that was purchased by the School Council was vandalised and it was going to cost a huge amount to replace.

Room 9 have been learning how to free drive and code the spheros. This is the current challenge they are facing!

At the beginning of this term, Room 9 went to Logan Park to learn the ins and outs of rock climbing for their upcoming climb at Long Beach!

Peninsula schools Art Exhibition show a display of creative works.

The 8A netball team had a great season this year, with some great wins taking 4th place overall. On Thursday, they competed in the Otago Tournament and had an awesome day!

Miniball is one of the most popular sports at Tahuna with an increasing number of players and teams.

The netball season was concluded with our Tahuna Netball Prizegiving where team awards were presented.

We had some of our fabulous Food Technology students making cupcakes on Monday 13th August. Our student councillors sold the cupcakes at lunchtime and we raised $205 for the S.P.C.A

Over the past few months we have been competing in gymnastics competitions in order to reach our goal of the New Zealand Gymnastics Championships in October. A few weeks ago we competed in the South Island Champs in Christchurch in order to gain qualifying scores to get into Nationals. Both of us compete in Individual Rhythmic and group Rhythmic routines.

Elgregoe, Magician and Ventriloquist, presented "You've Got the Power" show to captive students, as he got his antibullying message across at Tahuna.

We were very lucky to recently host the Junior Syndicate from Grants Braes School in the Music Room and the Performing Arts Room. Mr Lousley and Mr Page took the group through a session on the Djembe Drums followed by a session with Mrs Rouvi and the Kapa Haka girls. Thanks Grants Braes for visiting and thanks to Mr Lousely, Mr Page and Mrs Rouvi for organising.
