We had an amazing turnout for parent/teacher interviews. Communication is a vital aspect of the home and school relationship and more than 95% of our tamariki had a parent or caregiver meet with their teacher to share information. A big thank you to parents, caregivers and teachers for making it happen.

In Room 1 we did our artist study on James Rizzi, an American pop artist. He inspired us to make our own colourful crazy town with faces on buildings and lots of bright colours. Here's what the tamariki say about their crazy town....

The Year 2 Hub swimmers have been enjoying their time in the pool!

The Senior Hub have been busy learning how to write with great detail through poetry.

Another round of swimming lessons with the fantastic JC Swim School Team has been amazing for all swimmers in Room 1! Watching the children's confidence grow during the 2 week lessons is just awesome. Ka mahi!

The Junior Hub - Room's 1, 2 & 3 have been exploring our past and are finishing off the term putting the final touches on our project.

Room 8 students have been working collaboratively to create poems. Here are 2 of them:

What a week it's been! The seniors have had 2 swimming sessions every day for a week. They're exhausted, happy and the improvement in their swimming has been sensational! Ka mau te wehi!

We don't have a time machine, but the next best thing, a group of very keen inquisitive children who were, excited about learning what Wakari School was like in the past.

For the last half of this term the Middles have been creating something exciting for children to use in their playtimes.

Our Visual Art topics this term were Portraits and an Artist Study. Room 3 chose Freda Kahlo and created these amazing portraits inspired by her work.

On Thursday 9th March, some football fans from Wakari School headed down to the Logan Park Turf to play football.
