Scholarship Assembly

The 2024 Scholarship programme has begun in force
    by Claire Shakespeare

We recently shared our 2023 Scholarship success with the community. The increase of our total Scholarships to 95, was a moment for celebration, and provides a great platform from which to push forward with our programme in 2024. Scholarship sessions have resumed in most subject areas and it has been warming to see the number of students getting along to these. I’m always impressed by the commitment of our students as they attend sessions before school, during their lunch breaks, or after school.

Students involved in Scholarship or thinking about Scholarship were invited to a special assembly on Monday. Around 200 students attended this! This was an opportunity to talk about the focus and opportunities of our Scholarship programme, which is inclusive, open to everyone, and focused on the experience and journey for students. We want them to stretch and be challenged, and to enjoy and thrive in the experience. We consider any Scholarship gained a bonus.

The students heard from Nikil Cox and Connor Redding (both Year 13) who gained Scholarships as Year 12s. Teachers of Scholarship subjects also shared their thoughts about why Scholarship is a worthwhile endeavour.

We are excited by the possibilities of Scholarship this year and wish all of our students well as they begin their journey.
