As we wrap up Term 4 and reflect on the year at Georges River College Hurstville Campus, I am filled with pride for all that we have accomplished together. This year has been marked by growth, resilience, and a strong sense of community that underpins everything we do.

Georges River College Hurstville campus library has had a successful school term. Reading interest is up, especially in the areas of the Olympics and wide reading. Renaissance reading has provided some interesting data in the areas of comprehension and vocabulary

As the year draws to a close, it's a perfect time to reflect on the incredible achievements of our wellbeing team in 2024.

More exciting Career Pathways opportunities for Year 10 students at GRC Hurstville Campus this term!

In semester two, we had over 40 students participate in the 2024 ICAS Assessments for English, Mathematics, Science and Writing.

Our school is implementing an updated School Behaviour Support and Management Plan from day 1, term 1 2025.

Which summer grade teams will end the season as premiers? Which house will be champions of 2024? Read on to find out!

It has been another busy term in the Support Unit, with lots of exciting activities going on. One of the major events has been our year 10 cohort preparing to move over to GRC Oatley Senior Campus.

Throughout Term 4, PDHPE students in all year groups have been working conscientiously in theory classes revising course work in preparation for their end of year assessments. Congratulations to all students who performed to their potential throughout Semester 2. Recently the PDHPE teachers have been busy providing students with the important feedback from these assessments to ensure students continue to optimise their results in both theory and practical classes.

So, we come once again to the end of the year. All students should be proud of their accomplishments in Science throughout 2024. Year 8 students undertook their 8Validscience examination. This statewide examination allowed students to display their science skills and understanding that they have gained over their first 2 years of high school. Their results will be able to show how they are progressing in their science understanding compared to all 2023 year 8 students in NSW. Keep an eye out for those results to be emailed out to you by early 2025

As we approach the end of the year it is important to reflect on the amazing teaching and learning that has taken place in the English, HSIE, and Languages depts. This semester has been full of hard work, new experiences, fun and curiosity for our students. It has been exciting watching our students pursuing their passions in class while they engage in the various class activities such as debating, model making, digital presentations, excursions, and individual project -based learning.

This year has been truly exceptional for the Hurstville Campus Debating team. As I reflect on our journey into the world of debating, I am filled with immense pride. For our team, this year marks the successful conclusion of two years of dedicated effort, teamwork, mutual respect and personal growth. Their commitment and perseverance have been truly inspiring.

On Thursday of Week 3, our Years 7 and 8 students attended a special screening of Embrace Kids at BOUNCE, Homebush, promoting self-acceptance and resilience.

Year 10 Industrial Technology Timber students have recently showcased their woodworking skills by creating stunning wooden bowls.

GRC Hurstville Campus will be using Flexischools for parents to place lunch orders and make over-the-counter purchases at our school from 21 November 2024.
