We celebrated our junior students capabilities, achievement and commitment to our values and school at our Junior Prizegiving on Thursday 7th December.

As we begin our summer holiday break, we take the time to reflect and celebrate our year at school and the progress, achievements, fun and hard work of everyone who is part of our MGC whānau.

Our Year 10's have asked questions about learning in Year 11.

We have been advised that the Marlborough District Council will be undertaking works installing new water mains in McLauchlan Street, due to start on the 9th January 2024.

In our 5th May 2023 edition of the Bulletin, we reported that we had completed a mural on the back of the old Library. "Together as One - Unity in Nature" was the name for the new Marlborough Girls' College mural, which was designed and painted by a very dedicated group of students during the April holidays.

In an innovative fusion of art and science, our Year 9 students recently completed a Body as Art course, showcasing their creativity and scientific understanding in a unique exhibition.

We are very fortunate at Marlborough Girls' College library to have the support of a wonderful group of students of all year levels helping out in the library.

After the excitement of NZ Aquabots, Ms Ebofin and Mrs Davis accompanied 11 MGC Students to the University of Canterbury on Monday 27th November.

Having gained qualification at the regional Qualifier in September, three MGC teams travelled to Rolleston for the National final on 26th November.

Year's 9 and 10 students stood up to the challenge of the final Open Stage last Friday,1st December. We had fabulous dancing, great singing and lots of talking and planning for next year's Open Stage returning in Term 1. Happy singing and dancing! Please see photos below.

On Friday, the 25th November, the MGC Measina Whānau class was invited to Marlborough District Council's Chambers to perform a Tongan dance during signing The Statement of Commitment Ceremony for Welcoming Communities.

The Inspire Foundation proudly identifies and celebrates exceptional young individuals hailing from Marlborough who exhibit both the potential and the drive to excel in their chosen fields.

When we sit and speak of all the beautiful places to be, I can assure you that the Y10 Momorangi camp was in the top spot!

As the end of the school year gets ever closer, our International Learners have been busy enjoying our end of year programme and visiting local attractions in Marlborough.

Students from Flight, Earth & Beyond and Need for Speed classes were given the opportunity to take flight on Friday 17th November as part of the Rocket Challenge.

On the 24th of October, seventeen year 10 students had the opportunity to attend the Waka Ama Journey with Whenua Iti in the Abel Tasman.
