The trees are looking very bare around Wakari School. The children in Hub 1,2,3 are often found at playtime and lunch time picking up the fallen leaves and discussing their colour, shape and how they feel. We decided to use this experience the children enjoy and paint the empty looking trees.

The enthusiastic artists in Rooms 12 & 13 have been appreciating all the beauty of Autumn!

To further their learning about 'under the sea', the Room 14 writers have been researching, writing reports and creating interactive posters all about an ocean animal of their choice.

This term Mrs Bardwell's writing class have been learning how to write reports.

For the past two weeks the keen learners in the Middle Syndicate have chosen different projects to work on. There was a big selection of projects to choose from including boat making, 3D letters, sock puppets, bag tags, crown making and many more.

Over Term 1, the Senior Hub children have been learning how to write their Pepeha.

Room 6 have been busy working on Past, Present and Future writing this term.

Room 10 and 11 have continued their topic of "under the Sea' and last week we got creative!

We have had such an exciting and busy time in our Hub this term. It was such fun starting the term getting to know each other. The children picked up the the class routines very quickly, and by exploring the classroom and resources in our first week they settled into their new environment. We even created class treaties, laying out the expectations of the Hub.

Room 8 are doing some Easter writing tasks this week. In one of the tasks, the Easter Bunny's helpers have gone on holiday and the Easter Bunny needs help. Here are some "Help Wanted" posters made by students in Room 8.

The Year 6 students had a wonderful two days learning how to cycle safely.

As part of writing Room 16 writers have fast forwarded to when they are 100 years old! In their writing they have included what they will look like, what they will like to do and any advice for their grand children.
