Whenever a student is to be absent the school must be notified by a phone call or email to the office explaining the reason.

Assemblies are held every second Friday on even weeks each term in the Community Centre.

This seldom happens but we may close for a variety of reasons - bad weather, conditions which would make the school uninhabitable and or difficult to staff.

We welcome all applications for enrolment. Please fill out the preliminary online enrolment form if you are inzone using the link below. Then ring the school office to set up an appointment. If you live in our school zone your child automatically has a place at Woodend. If you do not live in our school zone an application for an out of zone place may be considered depending on the child's priority status, the number of available places and consideration of year level, class size etc. An out of zone enrolment application must be completed to be eligible to be in a ballot. These can be filled in at the school office. A ballot occurs at set times during the year and information about this will be given to you at the time of the out of zone application.

From time to time injuries do occur in spite of careful supervision by the staff.

Students are encouraged to bring a packed, balanced lunch to school.

Our Motto, Vision and Intelligent Behaviours are the Corner Stones for all that happens at Woodend Safe School. They incorporate the MOE Key Competencies, Art Costa’s 16 Habits of Mind and the Enterprise Attributes and underpin teaching and learning within our school. 

At times students may need to have or take medication at school.  Please read the process below for this to be possible.

These are 'manned' on the Main North Road and School Road, and operate Kea Crossings, by two senior school pupils under the supervision of a teacher or parent.  The patrol operates from 8.30 am until 8.55 am.  In the afternoon the patrol operates from 3.00 pm until 3.15 pm.

Restorative Justice is an approach that focuses on the needs of victims and where wrong doers are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions and to repair the harm they've done.

It's no secret that good savings habits start early.  Through ASB we provide children the opportunity to learn about the value of money and how a little save every week can easily add up.

This carpark due to its narrow entrance, the busyness of the Main North Road and its design with no footpath is a health and safety risk so last June we closed it as a drop off/pick up and pedestrian walkway

Students are expected and encourage to take a pride in their general appearance. The uniform is as follows:

At various times the school may have parents, tradespeople, and staff from support agencies visiting the school.
