Early in June we sent out accounts to parents of Years 11, 12 and 13 students.

A number of our students are out in the community on Gateway placements at the moment. Take a look at some of the opportunities they have been involved with.

During term two senior reo Māori students (Years 12 and 13) have been studying the language and performance of Haka. 

On the 16th of April, 13 boys from the senior school commenced their Chinese language study tour to China, accompanied by their teachers, Ms Feng and Mr Chang. 

After a very early start at the airport, 14 students and two teachers made the 12-hour journey to Japan on the last Tuesday of Term 1, full of anticipation and just a little nervous about what lay ahead.

Sport plays a significant part in the life of our school. It is, however, an addendum to school life. 

The Big Night In is the first of two annual Performing Arts shows hosted by Christchurch Boys' High School.

Congratulations to Mr David Bone who has been appointed to Assistant Senior Master in charge of Pastoral Care.

Christchurch Boys' High again took out the trophy for the top boys’ school.

We would like to remind the community that School will be closed for instruction on Friday 3rd June and Monday 6th June 2016.

School closed early on Tuesday 24th to allow staff and students to prepare for Open Night which ran from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

Christchurch Boys’ High School needs to fill the position of NCEA Exam Centre Manager. Although the school is advertising the job, the appointee will be employed by NZQA and will be responsible to them. The appointee will also work closely with school management.  

In conjunction with Balance Physiotherapy, Boys’ High provides a physiotherapy service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Jim Burrows Fitness Centre.

On Tuesday 24 May the School held a special assembly to celebrate Founders Day (actually 18 May 1881) and present the Altiora Peto Award.

The annual interschool 1st XV match between Christ’s College and Christchurch Boys’ High School takes place next Thursday, 2nd June. The game kicks off at 2:40pm at the Christ’s College Upper ground and will be televised live on the SKY Rugby Channel.
