Ben (Room 11) recently competed at the Cycling NZ Skoda Southern Tour in Blenheim and achieved some fantastic results!

On Wednesday, during week 4, Mrs Mundy organised a cultural lunch in the hall with help from Mrs Cumming and all of the Kakano Mano Cultural Leaders and Cultural Ambassadors.

Five Heaton Rock Bands Performed Excellently at a Recent Competition

Last Friday 4th August, a group of passionate Heaton readers and writers had the privilege of listening to three incredible New Zealand authors and illustrators, finalists in the Young Adult Book Awards. This was a part of the Word CHCH '23 Festival, a celebration of words, stories, and ideas for everyone to enjoy!

On Sunday the 13th of August Naya and Flynn represented Heaton in the Intermediate Trampoline Competition and achieved 1st position.

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you regarding the recent Cantamath competition held at the Christchurch Arena on Wednesday 23 August.

On Saturday 12th August, Heaton's two Jump Jam teams competed in the regional competition at Cashmere High School.

Our Year 8 students had their recent ski trip on August 16. Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, the day was filled with excitement, learning, and camaraderie.

The CAIMS Winter Tournament took place at various sporting venues around Christchurch during week 5 of term 3. We were well represented with over 160 athletes from Heaton competing in badminton, basketball, football, hockey, netball, rugby sevens, squash, table tennis and volleyball. We were so fortunate with the glorious weather and are so proud of the growth of every team and the attitudes of our student-athletes.

The Year 8 Kapa haka and four of our Japanese students were delighted to host Chita Middle School students, teachers, and their Principal from Japan last Monday.

A group of talented singers and musicians, Elissa, Willow, Violet, Addie and Neja went to Tūranga Library to participate in a masterclass on songwriting.
