EPro8 Competition Teams

Over the past few weeks seven Stanley Bay teams of year 5/6 students have taken part in a series of EPro8 in-school challenges in which they have used our new EPro8 resource kits to build large-sized structures, solve practical problems, engineer using pulleys, motors, gears, wheels and axles, invent machines that can complete simple tasks and undertake unusual and fun experiments.

We are so thrilled to announce the fundraising result for the SBS Knowledge-athon and the WINNERS of the class prize.

Our fundraising target for this event was $8,000 but with the challenges of Covid we weren’t sure what the outcome would be. Surpassing all our expectations this small but mighty school community has raised $17,934! More than double the target!

Room 10

For our initial week of home learning, we have been continuing our learning of language features, along with discovering their purpose and use in the modern world. We decided to look at hyperbole, imperatives and continue practice using our interesting adjectives while we attempt to sell some delicious home baking. We also began learning how to write to inform/report, and learning to select relevant information for an audience. The students decided to present their writing through a news flash presentation
