Board Update - April 2024
We were delighted to have Paula and Jean-Marie sharing about Joy Allcock and the shift we are making in our practice to have a balanced literacy approach.
It was clear that an extensive amount of research, analysis, and wisdom has gone into selecting an approach that will work best for our kaiako and ākonga. We really appreciated the opportunity to discuss the benefits of this approach, and to see the resources that will be available to support it. As a Board, we are excited to see the positive impact this will have on our ākonga.
We would also like to welcome back Fiona McNicholl to a full-time classroom position in Room 2. We are excited to have you back with us again, giving our tamariki and their whānau a great start to Cotswold Mātāhae and their school journey.
Thanks also to Dani and Anna for organising another successful mihi whakatau to welcome our new tamariki and whānau. We understand the huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to make an event like this run smoothly. It was also great to see such a large number of the manuhiri attend and stay to share kai and kōrero.
During the meeting, the Board adopted the budget for 2024 which now gives more clarity around budgets for various positions within the kura, and makes a health and wellbeing subsidy available to support our teachers’ mental and physical wellbeing.
We are also excited as the renovations on Rooms 14 and 15 are close to completion. Thank you to Dani and Fiona who are going to make the move to these new spaces to begin term 2.
Finally, well done to everyone on reaching the end of an amazing first Term!
We want to extend a massive thank you to all of our staff for their hard work and dedication in the start of the school year.
And finally to everyone in our school whānau, enjoy your holidays, get some rest and relaxation, and we look forward to seeing you all again in Term 2!
