Creating a Christian Community of Learning in the Senior School

    by KingsWay School

A key part of our mission statement is to live as a Christian Community of learning. This permeates everything we do, including our teaching and learning, leadership teams (prefects and councils), sports programs, and arts and cultural activities. As Kaiako (teachers), we regularly set aside time on Wednesday mornings to develop our knowledge and awareness of faith and build our community further.

Our councils this term have also been investing in and continuing to build Christian community and connection across both the Junior and Senior campuses. Some events and initiatives our students have led in Term 1 include the Primary School Teddy Bears Picnic, Peer Support meetings between Year 13s and Year 9s, Rise Girls lunch and Movie Source Day, a Yeah the Boys event with a guest speaker and the Family Fun Night. At the end of this Term 1 we will have a mufti day to support our Philippines Mission group. Term 2 is shaping up well with further events to bring students together to celebrate the unique aspect of our Christian character.

We commend our students for their ongoing commitment to making KingsWay a strong community of faith.
