Helping KingsWay School Grow

KingsWay School New Junior Build Update by

Growing Classroom Space with The KingsWay Trust – the New Primary School Pavilion

The KingsWay Trust are pleased to announce the practical completion of the new Primary school pavilion situated at Grut Green. Finishing touches are being completed while we seek final certification. The purpose-built learning space caters for five to six-year-old students and supports KingsWay’s ability to provide consistent Christ-centred education from preschool through to Year 13. This successful project has been the result of collaboration between the Trust, our contractors, Indesco and the School leadership team. We are grateful for this and look forward to handing the keys over to the school so that teachers and students can enjoy the new facility.

Growing Special Character, the Christian Faith, with the NZCPT

As a difference to state schools, KingsWay School operates under a government mandate to uphold a "Special Character" centred around the Christian faith. This distinctive feature is overseen by the NZCPT, the organisation entrusted with the agreement permitting KingsWay's operation by the Ministry of Education. Dr. Jacqui Lloyd, the Special Character Coordinator of NZCPT, supports the school's integration of their Christian faith with all aspects of school life and learning.

Over the last term, this has included:

  • Introducing new staff to the KingsWay Trust Special Character documents, “Our Faith,” “Theological Framework,” and the “Special Character Guidelines.”
  • Providing professional development for teachers in Hermeneutics so they can help students unpack and interpret Scripture well.
  • Providing an optional course of guided reading and lectures based on the book, The Drama of Scripture, which unpacks the Bible’s grand narrative.
