Exra-Curricular Sporting Achievements

Congratulations to the following students who have excelled at various sporting events outside of KingsWay School.

  • Kezia Ho, Year 13, who was selected for the Australian National Team again this year for Gymnastics and will be competing in the Gold Coast.
  • David Howie, Year 13, won 1st place in U20 Boys Mountain Biking.
  • Mia Anderson, Year 13, won 1st place in U20 Girls Mountain Biking.
  • Macs Green, Year 13, placed first in his age group for the Tarawera 20km Trail Half Marathon with a time of 1:43. This event includes some very challenging terrain and is open to international competitors.
  • Anna Jung, Year 13, has recently been honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation for her exceptional service and dedication to both the Korean and New Zealand communities
  • Levi Fitzgerald (pictured above), Year 12, was selected in the U16 New Zealand Men's team travelling to the World Championships for water polo in Malta in June this year.
  • Tim Erasmus, Year 12, has become the youngest fully fledged Volunteer for the Auckland Coastguard (aged 16) and possibly in New Zealand.
  • Sienna Corbett, Year 12, won 1st place in U18 Girls Mountain Biking.
  • Enoch Wu, Year 11, who won a silver medal at The 2024 Harlequins Zonal Secondary School Open Water Swimming Championships. Enoch also placed 1st in the Peoples Triathlon in Auckland recently for his age group.
  • Madison Owen, Year 11, broke a school record running a 4.59 minutes in the 1500m and qualified for the Auckland Championships.
  • Matthew Springer, Year 11, qualified 4th for the 100m final, broke a school record running the 200m in 24.58 seconds, and jumped 5.77m in the Long Jump, also qualifying for the Auckland Championships.
  • Zach Hamilton, Year 10,broke a school record for High Jump and qualified for Auckland Champs in the process with a 1.75m effort. Then, broke another school record with a 38.1m throw in the Discus. Finally, he qualified for Auckland Camps again with a 24.12m Javelin.
  • Emilie Belsham, Year 8, won the Canoe Racing Under 12's Girls K1 500m and K1 200m races, finishing second in the Under 12's Girls K1 100m, and third in the Under 12's Mixed K2 200m. In the subsequent Rotorua regatta, she continued to excel, placing second in both the Under 14's Mixed K4 500m and Under 12's Mixed K2 200m races. Emilie achieved personal best in all her K1 races.

  • Coast Basketball
    Over the Easter weekend Coast Basketball participated in the Mel Young Easter Tournament. This prestigious event is one of the biggest representative events in the country and had over 110 teams competing over 4 age groups. Kingsway was well represented at this event with numerous students playing for Coast. I'm not sure if you have any socials going for KW but I think they deserve some recognition for their efforts and dedication.
