The Junior School recently showcased the students' talents through a delightful concert for parents and families.

Penelope Hare and Georgia Wong led a fantastic Chapel based on the Russian retelling of the Christmas story in the book Babushka.

Congratulations to Skyla Murray (Yr 11) and her chamber music group, Eccentrioties, for being selected for the NZCT Chamber Music Competition semi-finals! They are among the top 12 chamber music groups in the country (out of over 350 ensembles), and they will perform at The Piano in Christchurch on August 6th.

This week, the school-wide raffle fundraising for ‘The Cloud Suite’ has seen raffle books issued to all our Columba College families.

This term our art unit has been fabric and fibre with a focus on learning to weave in different materials.

During Term 2 the Music department has been infiltrating the library with beautiful music from our talented school musicians.

Year 12 and 13 students of French have enjoyed finishing up their travel unit with a Tahitian banquet. A cultural experience, many tried foods for the first time. These included: poisson cru (raw fish), taro, niçoise salade, coconut jelly with lychée, and an interesting smelling dish called tofu/poulet fafa.

Open Hours for Term 3, 2021

Students learning French have enjoyed having the lovely Madame Navarro in class with them since March and it is with sadness that we say goodbye.

Year 9 and Year 10 Chinese classes had a “cooking workshop” to learn how to make and cook Chinese Wonton húntun 馄饨.

The Junior school children enjoyed dressing up in international costumes on Tuesday.

Each year, Columba Chinese students participate in the New Zealand soft-pen and hard-pen Calligraphy competition organised by Confucius Institute.

The PALs leaders enjoyed creating games on the new turf on Tuesday for the first time.
