Toki Production, ‘A Vacay, a Waka and a Kura’ was a sell-out success both nights.

This term we have loved Garden to Table.

For book lovers everywhere, we will be celebrating all things books in Week 1 of next term including a book character parade, book quizzes, cartooning, mystery readers and more.

Toki Speech winner, Chloe Li, and runner-up, Aria-Moon Carson-Meihana (both Year 6), presented at the 2023 Puketapapa Kahui Ako Speech Showcase held at Hillsborough Primary School earlier this month.

We are really excited to introduce Aki Murai who will begin as the new teacher in room 6 next term.

We are proud to celebrate our year 6 students who took part in the nationwide Otago Maths competition this year.

This event will be held at Three Kings Reserve on Friday 3rd November, from 9.15-2.30pm.

If you have a child who is going to turn 5 in 2024, and you live outside of the school zone, you need to apply by 27 September 2023.

Our Read-a-thon is well underway

A casual vacancy has occurred on the school board for an elected parent representative.

Early Monday morning, a load of sand was delivered and Mr Stewart got to work moving it!

On Friday last week as part of Koru’s drama focus for Term 3, we had a team themed day based upon the story “Where the wild things are” by Maurice Sendak. We called this special day “Koru goes wild”

On Friday night the hall was transformed into a rainbow of glow colour for the Disco.

A big shout out to Bunnings, Mt Roskill who has kindly donated paint and brushes for our cultural walkway project. Thank you, Bunnings – you are awesome! Now we can’t wait to start the project.

We would love to hear from you, what you do and how you do it, how you help out in our local or wider community. We are looking for charity workers, volunteers and people who spend time helping other people no matter how big or small. Eg. community workers, charity workers, not for profit organisations. Entries open Tuesday 5th September

As part of our Drama focus for Term 3, in Week 5 students across every syndicate were treated to the award-winning theatre show, ‘Monarch’, a story about butterflies, speech writing, scientists and the environment.

Congratulations to all of our speech finalists who presented at the Toki Speech competition on Friday. It was fantastic to have so many of our parents and whānau supporting. Also a huge thank you to Graham Bryant from Ranfurly Village who joined our judging panel of Mrs Eka and our lovely librarian, Eunhye.

Excitement is building as Toki syndicate is busy with rehearsals for their upcoming production, 'A Vacay, a Waka and a Kura' - a story about how Three Kings School was gifted its' name, Te Tātua o Rakataura.

On Thursday 17th of August two teams of budding engineers headed to Blockhouse Bay Intermediate school to take part in the interschool EPRO8 challenge.

With Miss Lawrence having taken up her new position at Mt Roskill Primary School, Miss Taylor and Mrs Coutts will be sharing the team leader position.

Throughout these hundred days, we've witnessed young minds blossom, friendships bloom, and knowledge expand. To commemorate this milestone, the Porohita team organised a day full of exciting activities, games, and interactive lessons. Here's to many more days of learning and fun!

Three Kings School employs a Special Needs Co-ordinator for three days per week. Her name is Louise Sorensen. She works to implement programmes for children who require additional support. She has a wealth of knowledge about community supports and programmes available to families. Thank you to all our wonderful students, parents and other family and friends for helping to make our book fair a big success. A total of $2,873.00 was raised to spend on books for our school library. Books to the value of $510.00 were also donated to the library. All of us at Three Kings School thank you for your generosity and support of the importance of reading books and literacy.

We are really excited to introduce Peter Leilua to our school community. Peter Leilua, is at the forefront of Global Hope Missions, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to making a significant impact on global humanitarian efforts.

Three Kings School invites all our Māori and Pasifika families to join us for a chat and a cuppa.

Welcome back to term 3 - we hope that families found a special way to celebrate Matariki in the school holidays.

This week is our mid-year parent partnership meetings. School closes at 12.30 on Wednesday and 3pm on Thursday. Please contact your class teacher as soon as possible if you still need to book an appointment.

Jo has an anxious child and works with Autism New Zealand to help support a range of learners.

We are desperately seeking parents to help supervise our last few road patrols. We are currently looking for adults to supervise a Friday morning slot from 8.30 to 8.45 and adults for patrols Monday, Wednesday and Thursday after school from 2.55 to 3.10. The children run the patrols, we just need adults to be present. If you would be able to support this please email John on john.waller@threekings.school.nz

Thank you to everyone who came along and shared in our learning for Term 2!

The large, double gates on the field are for access by emergency vehicles and should remain closed unless they are being used. Can we ask all parents and children to please use the two pedestrian gates at either side. If you do, for whatever reason, need to open the larger gates can you please ensure they are closed afterwards to keep all our children safe whilst playing on the field.

Just as the famous quote from Nichelle Nichols says - we ALL ended Term 2 on a high with the Science Showcase.
