Due to multiple student absences today and not all students being aware that Long Distance events would be run during lunch time, I have decided to post-pone the long distance events to next Tuesday 24th October during the lunch break - 1.20-2.00pm. Our Head Student, Lucy Hyde, represented us at the South Island Secondary Schools' Netball Tournament as part of the Amuri Area School Team.

This year's cross country will take place on Tuesday 17th of May. Welcome, and the briefing starts at 1:30 pm. The first event takes place at 1:35 pm. We ask that all parents and caregivers that attend wear face masks and stay 2 meters distant from those that you don't know.

Sporting events are starting up again! After the disrupted term 1 it will be awesome to see our students back out this term enjoying winter sports.

Congratulations to all our students who competed in our swimming sports this year.

From year 3 up, the school PE uniform is to be worn for PE and sporting events.

The Y5-8 Cheviot Area School T20 Team went down to Darfield today in the North Canterbury Final in an evenly matched contest.

The year 5-8 boys T20 cricket team won their second round match against Woodend on Monday, and now play West Eyreton in the 3rd round here at Cheviot Area School on Thursday (tomorrow). Play starts on the back field at ~10am so come and support if you can.

Hi, my name is Adele A'Court, I've been living in Cheviot for two years now and I really enjoy the community. I have been involved with the Cheviot Netball Club as president and this is my third season in that role.

On Thursday we sent two teams to play in the first round of the Year 6-8 T20 cricket competition. The girls played at Kaiapoi North school and had a narrow defeat, with the boys being victorious against Amuri.

Six of our senior students are proudly representing the Top of the South Area Schools in the National Area Schools competition in Rotorua in just over a weeks time.

Cheviot students had a successful day at the recent Hurunui Primary Schools Cross Country held in the Waikari Valley. Those that made it into the top six went on to represent Hurunui at the Canterbury Primary and Intermediate Schools Cross Country at Halswall Quarry last week.

The Year 7-9 soccer team plays Amuri Area School this Thursday (13th June) at Cheviot Area School. Kick Off @ 12:30pm.

Year 5 and 6 students had a fantastic day at the 'Rugby Fun Day' held last week at Burnside Park.

We had a great time at SISS this year coming third in our pool then coming 5th overall in the C grade.

A muddy day at the UC Mudrun. With 920 participants from 30 Canterbury schools.

On Monday 25/06/18 some of our year 5 & 6 boys and girls will be playing volleyball in the Indoor Winter Tournament.

After a mostly successful school cross country, we sent a few of our elite runners to the Hurunui Zone Cross Country 2018 and had great success.

23rd May 2018 - Students from years 7-13 competed against Kaikoura High School in a one-day sports exchange.

Our Year 5/6 rugby team attended the Burnside Park Cantabs Rugby Fun Day on Friday.
