In recent Bulletins we have shared with you the changes happening in teaching and learning across the country and at Marlborough Girls’ College.

On Wednesday 28 June we acknowledged our junior students and their achievements at the end of Semester 1.

Week 9 was STEAM week and our annual SciTech fair was held on 22 and 23 June.

Nearly 60 year 9 students participated in the Rocket Challenge held on 20th June.

On Tuesday 28th June Mrs Davis took senior students Tamara, Isla and Alex across to Nelson to attend the 80th Annual Cawthron lecture entitled ‘Ice and Us’.

Our Y9 and Y10 FabLab class have been busy with an exciting project that gives back to our community.

This semester two junior classes have been working towards a wearable art project from Showquest Toi.

Formal 2023 was an absolute blast!

Maggie Lloyd and Jan Gallop were recognised by School Sport NZ for their services to sport in schools.

Our MGC squash teams have been busy competing in tournaments around the South Island.

Year 9 and 10 students in Music have been exploring the art of foley and movie music creating some fantastic creations.

On Tuesday the 20th June, a combined year 10 Jewellery class had the pleasure of learning about the design process from Jared Haley, who currently freelances with Weta workshop.

Learning doesn't just take place in the classroom at MGC, it often takes place out in our community as well.

Seven MGC students from ESU 201/301 class had an amazing trip into the Marlborough Sounds to monitor the impact that Kina have on the marine environment.

The next Hine Te Waiora - Women's Wellness and Empowerment Wānanga - is on from 21 to 23 July at Lake Rotoiti.
