Our achiever of the month is Kara Easton who is demonstrating our school value of excellence each and every day. She has recently achieved consistent excellence grades in Maths and Geography and has a consistently positive attitude towards her learning and future. Keep up the great work as a role model to others Kara.
Congratulations to CMC for winning our interform soccer competition this week. Our lunchtime activities continue to be positively received and thanks to Mrs Shaw for all of her efforts in making these happen.
Next week our new Year 3 classroom with Ms Dryden starts up with a bit of a shuffle around to accommodate our increasing numbers in year four. For parent teacher interviews, if you have a child in Year 3, please book appointments with Ms Dryden not Ms Sopp or Ms Allison.
Next week is all about the production as we get final rehearsals underway. Tickets are on sale from the school office and we hope to see as many of you as possible at one of the three performances with 75 students taking part. This means the gym is out of action all next week.

Over the last fortnight we have welcomed several new students to Amuri. Jessica has begun her school years with Mrs Johnson in Room 1, welcome Jessica! Last week saw the arrival of James in Room 3 and his brother Michael in Room 5 and this week we welcomed Felipe in Room 3 and his brother Vicente in 7CBN. We are happy to have you all at Amuri.
Last week we hosted Vas from ‘Be Bright, Eat Right.’ All our Year 1-8 students attended and were wowed by Vas as he educated us on the importance of eating a healthy and balanced diet. This was all demonstrated with some very impressive illusions to help cement the ideas. An enormous thank you must go to our very supportive PTA who covered the cost for our students to attend. We have a second performance on June 21st for Years 1-6. El Gregoe, a well-known magician, will be visiting with his show ‘What you can be.’ This show is all about acceptance and appreciation of others.
Next week we are starting up a new class of Year 3 students in Room 7 (in the prefab classrooms behind the main block). This is due to roll growth in the Year 3 and 4 area where numbers have grown considerably since the start of the year. Belinda Dryden is joining the primary team as the teacher of this class and the students have been working with her during this week to help their transition. We look forward to having Belinda as part of our primary teaching team.
We’re all looking forward to seeing the efforts of many of our students and staff in the school production “Peter Pan” which is on Friday and Saturday of next week. Break a leg everyone!
