Another fast finish to the term with incursions, excursions, NAPLAN, student academic reports and the RoSE Assembly.

It has been a busy term with a wide range of activities, presentations and incursions. We have welcomed Amber Harvie our new Student Support Officer (SSO) to our school community and she will be working with the Wellbeing team to further support our students.

Amber is a newly appointed staff member and the first ever Student support Officer at Georges River College Hurstville Campus. She will join the Wellbeing team here at Hurstville Campus and be working with students, parents, staff and the wider community to support student wellbeing.

The English faculty would like to congratulate all its students for their resilience. It has been a busy Term 2 with exciting and challenging texts to delve into and new reading and writing skills to hone.

Term 2 has seen a flurry of activity in Maths with students continuing to engage diligently in their learning. Formal assessment of student understanding has continued, with Year 10 sitting their first formal examination.

The Science faculty at GRC Hurstville Boys Campus has been working to deliver high quality teaching & learning opportunities for our students.

It has been another busy term with all year groups working well in both practical and theory lessons. All years have been working hard to complete their assessment tasks. We would like to congratulate all students for their dedication and hard work this term!

We hit the ground running in Term 2 with lots of sporting events taking place.

The HSIE department is always a hive of activity. Stage 4 and 5 History and Geography have continued the work on skills, with an emphasis on thinking critically and creatively about the world around them.

Four enthusiastic and hardworking students commenced their Work Experience Program at Ascalon Industries this term.

It has been a very busy semester for Year 10, their teachers and all staff in the office.

The NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) requires that all Year 10 students complete mandatory HSC Minimum Standards tests. These tests give students an opportunity to demonstrate the required levels of literacy and numeracy to be eligible for the award of the Higher School Certificate (HSC).

On Friday 27 May GRC Hurstville Boys Campus held an assembly for National Reconciliation Week. We were joined by special guests Jeff and Cole Hardy.

Our free Homework Centre is continuing throughout Term 3. Students can get support from one of our teachers every Monday and Tuesday, in the library, 3-4pm.

Every Tuesday from 8am, come and have some breakfast and have a chat with our SSO and our school community.
