Our Year 10 students had a fantastic time at the annual three-night camp at the Blue Lakes last week. Aimed at instilling teamwork, leadership and cooperation (TLC), the camp more than met its obligations — with each student stepping up and demonstrating all three qualities throughout the stay.

Parents: Conversations Encouraged On Survey Findings

In 2021, our school participated in a National Youth Wellbeing Survey titled whataboutme.nz. The survey was completed by just under 7,500 young people in schools across Aotearoa. Due to Covid, it took a while before we received the national results to draw a comparison with our results.

Water Ski Racer Wins Bronze, Sets Course for Epic Australian Event

Congratulations to Y10 student, Nikita Alloway, who scored a third placing in the recent Bridge to Bridge - NZ’s premier water skiing race. She and her ski partner won bronze in the women’s open 2-Up race (two skiers towed by one boat.) The annual event is raced on the Waikato River and attracts NZ and Australia’s top skiers.

Aquinas has more Taekwondo success to shout about! Year 11s Joshua Oficial is dripping in gold after representing New Zealand at the 9th Oceania Taekwondo Championships in Tahiti. Josh won two golds in the poomsae junior male individual and mixed pairs to add to the two gold medals he won 24 hours earlier at Tahiti’s President’s Cup competition.

Trans-Tasman Victory for Aquinas Cheerleader

Parnell’s All Stars Legacy Viperz team won first place in the Level 5 division and was then judged overall Level 5 Grand Champions, a massive NZ victory on Australian soil.
